You’ve may not have heard the name Jerry Jumonville, but you have heard his music. Jerry provided the iconic saxophone solo on Rod Stewart’s “Tonight’s The Night,” and can be heard on multiple recordings by the Doobie Brothers, Bette Midler, Bonnie Rait, Harry Nilsson, Iron Butterfly, The Beach Boys, Little Feat, Van Morrison, Kris Kristofferson, Rita Coolidge, Smokey Robinson, Ringo Starr, Duane Allman, Joe Turner, Ry Cooder and more, more, more. His discography lists him playing on 127 albums and CD recordings ....not only playing but also Writing & Arrangement for Arlo Guthrie, Randy Newman, The Doobie Brothers, Michelle Phillips, Maria Muldaur, Captain Beefheart, Dusty Springfield and our own Professor Longhair, Bobby Charles, Rockin' Dopsie and Dr. John. Jerry was also the band leader for popular singer Ricki Lee Jones. A frequent performer at many clubs in New Orleans, Jerry was taken ill recently and recovering from surgery with mounting medical bills and is without income to make ends meet.
Buffa’s Bar & Restaurant is holding a fundraiser for to help Jerry make ends meet while he recovers. ALL donations will be used towards Jerry’s medical bills and living expenses.

Jerry Jumonville has been one of the most frequently featured performers in our Back Room. He plays with The Royal Rounders, as a duo with Al Farrell, and leads his own band, The Jump City Band.
Jerry has some medical issues that will keep him from playing for a while as he recovers from surgery. We're hosting on ongoing fundraiser to help him cover living expenses until he is ready to perform again.
Jerry is even featured on our CD, Live from the Back Room, which you can buy in our store and we will donate $5 from your purchase to Jerry's recovery efforts.
